Lucky Dip

A selection of work begun during the Pandemic in response to different stages.
Lucky Dip and Isolation were created on the day the UK went into the first lockdown in March 2020,  Lucky Dip is intentionally garish. With its hints of fairgrounds and circus tops, Suzanne sees Lucky Dip as a reminder that significant life opportunities result from the random nature of our birth, its particular time and location, and references the balance of chance and choice which shapes our destiny, so pertinent at this time.
Walking New Ways and Into the Garden herald an opening up, time to pause and reflect.
The title of the painting ‘Rolled Round In Earth’s Diurnal Course’ is taken from  ‘A Slumber Did My Spirit Steal’ by Wordsworth and acknowledges the eternal nature of gestation,  birth and death; the rhythm of life. This piece preceded the Pandemic.
Some of these pieces are currently exhibited in Suzanne’s solo show, Lucky Dip, at HOME, Manchester from 2nd April to 22nd May 2022. Click for catalogue and pricelist
