These paintings explore mindsets and  the balance of states of being with their counterpoints. Unfettered freedom can be gently held and reviewed. When we are ‘in the thick of it’ we can step back and look through a different viewfinder. In the process of making, intuition is balanced with conscious thought; the energy of movement paused by stillness. Influenced by ‘The Prophet’, a continuing source of inspiration for the artist, Kahil Gibran states: ‘Your joy is your sorrow unmasked’.
